Florida Yard

During 2002, volunteers cleared the area on the south side of sanctuary to put in a “Florida Yard” demonstration project. This project had two main purposes. The first was to provide the community an example of how low water use plants can be used to enhance landscaping. The other was to enhance the landscaping around the church.

The project was coordinated by Nancy Criswell.

Volunteers replaced 5,600 sq. feet of dying grass with native plants, and Installed low-volume irrigation. Two youth earned Eagle Scout badges by coordinating site-clearing and planting days Alex Zinner, Troop 4 and Matthew Isom, Troop 53.
