Palma Ceia United Methodist Day School is licensed to enroll preschool children ranging from 2 1/2 to 5 years of age. Education at Palma Ceia is a process of self-directed activity and discovery that exposes our children to many different experiences within the framework of a preschool/child care situation. Complimented by the support and watchfulness of well-qualified teachers and aides, our program emphasizes language and social development skills. Once the children discover the joy of learning and creativity, they continue to develop through their own initiative.
Founded in 1955, the teachers introduced an academically sound program to the preschool child, where each one would be loved and accepted as a unique child of God. Each child is nurtured in body, mind, and spirit through music, stories, plays, and creative activities. Those first teachers could not have imagined the growth and success which was later to be realized. The school continues today supported by a large number of devoted teachers continuing to express the same philosophy of love and promotion of positive self-image on which the school was founded.
