In the recent years, many members have asked, “What can we do to help hurricane victims?” The United Methodist Church was immediately on the ground on the Gulf Coast, helping victims through the United Methodist Committee on Relief. Palma Ceia has contributed thousands of dollars to hurricane relief and other emergencies in the past and continues to work in this way through UMCOR.
UMCOR
is always in need of monetary gifts in order to effectively respond to disasters anywhere in the world. While
most people wait until a disaster occurs to give, being proactive in our support allows UMCOR to be more prepared when a disaster hits. If you would like to make a designated contribution, make your check payable to PCUMC—marked for “UMCOR"—and we will ensure that 100 percent goes directly to those in need. You may also submit contributions directly to UMCOR. If you prefer that your funds go to recovery in a specific region, please note that on your contribution, as well.
To learn more about UMCOR or to donate a monetary gift, visit www.methodistrelief.org or call 1-800-554-8583.
Cuban Mission Methodists United in Prayer is a relationship that was established between the Methodist Church in Cuba and The Florida Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church for the purpose of implementing ministries for strengthening the local church in each conference and for mutual conference-wide programs. As a partner in this covenant, Palma Ceia is able to provide ongoing support to Iglesia Metodista Juan Wesley in Reparto Marmol, Altamaira, Provincia Santiago de Cuba. Prayer Group Prayer is important, and we hope you are in constant prayer. Our Prayer Group meets weekly to raise the prayers of the church. If you have any prayers you would like to lift, please contact the church.

Through the generosity of our members, Palma Ceia UMC's Food Basket is continually stocked with non-perishable food items for those in need in our community. If you would to help us keep our Food Basket stocked, please consider donations of items such as canned good (pop-tops are preferable -- vegetables, fruit, sauces, single-serve fruit snacks, beans, etc), individually wrapped snacks such as cookies, peanut butter and crackers, cheeze crackers, single-serve cereals, and so on. Please no dried pasta or noodles, as these items tend to attract unwanted pests in the pantry. Thank you!
